What to do in Tahiti

Relaxing at a Resort Tahiti is a nature wonderland with lots to do and even much more to explore. Aside from enjoying the beautiful beaches out here, you can hike the lush mountainous terrain or spend time exploring the virgin valleys. For the more adventurous, take a helicopter ride to Mt. Aorai for some truly breathtaking views of the surrounding area and of the island. Do keep in mind though that a helicopter ride can be quite expensive.

If you enjoy spending time outdoors, then a great idea is to hire a four-wheel drive and go for a ride around the island. With much to explore and see, this ride will offer you some spectacular sights along the way. However, if you are in Tahiti to relax and have a good time, then the ideal way to do it is to kickback and chill out at an outdoor café. If you enjoy a good game of golf, then head on to the Oliver Breaud International Golf Course on the southern end of Tahiti Nui. An 18-hole par 72 championship course with huge fairways and 2 lakes, the course has a driving range, pool, restaurant and even tennis courts.
For those who prefer to have more fun in the water, Tahiti offers its visitors a plethora of water sports to enjoy. You can try your hand at sports fishing in the beautiful waters of the Southern Pacific, or you can go for a sail along the coast. Water ski or jet ski the length of the beach or try out wind surfing.

One of the best activities to enjoy in Tahiti is scuba diving or snorkeling, as the underwater visibility is terrific and the ocean is home to the most spectacular array of marine life. Dive with the sharks, come face to face with friendly dolphins and swim with a multitude of brightly colored fish as you explore the exquisite underwater coral reefs out here. Tahiti even has a number of good surf breaks for the avid surfer to enjoy.

Another activity to enjoy is to go for a horseback ride along the coast, or just on the beach. Many tour companies even offer short horseback ride excursions into the island’s interior areas, where cars cannot go. For adrenaline junkies, parasailing opportunities are also available from Tahiti’s mountain tops.
