Destination Weddings in Tahiti

Destination Weddings in Tahiti A great wedding destination, Tahiti is said by many to be one of the most romantic places on the planet. The ideal destination for a couple to either renew their vows or get married, this tiny island offers some of the most memorable and picturesque settings in which two people can exchange their promises of love to one another. Either on the soft sands of the beach or in the churches found across the island, a wedding in Tahiti is truly memorable.

Offering you an ambience of romance and intimacy, Tahiti promises you a wedding in true fairy style, but with a Polynesian twist. Ceremonies here are non-binding legally, and are usually done out of romantic aspirations. According to what you would like, they can be as simple as a ring exchanging sunset ceremony by a Tahitian priest, or an elaborate and lavish affair with music, dancing and all the traditional Tahitian practices. In Tahiti, marriage is a sacred bond blessed by the gods and is treated as such. In an elaborate ritual, the bride-to-be is given the treatment of an ancient Tahitian princess. She is pampered by the villagers on the beach with fragrant flowers and oils and is dressed in a brightly colored pareu with flower garlands and seashells.

The groom on the other hand is dressed in the traditional garb of a village High Chief. He too wears a
colorful pareu with flowers, and is bought to the location of the ceremony with lots of pomp and show in a canoe. The bride is carried here on a rattan throne. Then amidst the music and dance, the wedding ceremony is preformed at the Tahitian Stone, where the high priest performs various marriage rituals and rites before giving the couple their own unique Tahitian names. After all this, the married couple is then seated on a royal chair and is carried off by Tahitian warriors into the sunset.

If you do wish to get married in Tahiti, be aware that there is certain paper work you have to fill out and get done. You have to provide;
