Diving with a Marine Turtle in Huahine While there are plenty of activities to indulge in Huahine on land, there is even more fun to be had in the water. With a wealth of water sports to enjoy, Huahine is the perfect place for an aquatic safari! Perhaps the best way to have fun out here is to go for an underwater diving adventure. With some of the best diving in the area, diving in Huahine is ideal for divers of all ages.

From novice and beginner divers to experts, there is a plethora of riches hidden off the shores of Huahine. And with various dive levels for all kinds of divers, this island is fantastic underwater paradise. Diving conditions do not change much throughout the year, but a good time to come dive here is between November and April, when there are less tourists. Most of the dives here are less than 25 meters. However, there are some deeper dives for the experts as well.
Along and around the coast of Huahine you are likely to spot a number of fish while diving including, jackfish, manta rays, Napoleon fish, snappers, tuna, sharks, moray eels, barracudas and a plethora of reef and tropical fish species. Don’t forget to bring your underwater water camera for some truly memorable pictures down below! This is perhaps one of the most unique aspects of diving here that you can find such a huge diversity of fish.

The best place to go diving in Huahine and indeed in Tahiti is the Avapeihi Pass, one of the most gorgeous dive sites in the archipelago. Not to be missed, diving here is an experience in itself amid large schools of fish of every kind and color! Offering new surprises here every day, this underwater pass is home to snappers, bat fish, grey sharks, eagle rays, bonitas, barracudas, perch and jackfish. If you are lucky you may even see a Jewfish or a Black Sea Bass pass by.

Another attraction of diving in Huahine is its coral. The Coral Garden and Yellow Valley are wonderful places to dive into, as they showcase a truly breathtaking view of rare yellow coral.

Some other popular dive sites on Huahine include Fa’a Miti, Parea Pass and the Canyon.
